Here's a little bit about my story:
I had my oldest daughter at the age of 21 and she surprised us with a super rare genetic disorder. My husband and I were in college at BYU when she was born and were completely launched into the deep end of the medically complex world (a world we didn't even know existed). After spending 118 days in the NICU, we brought our baby girl home and began life as a unified family finally living under the same roof. Since then, we've continued pivoting with joy as we do out best to not only meet her medical needs, but also build a happy healthy life for the rest of our family too. We've lived in 3 states with Camilla and have endured through more hospital stays than I can count and game planned more surgeries than a 3 year old should go through. Being aware of the struggles many special needs parents face, my husband and I have committed to being on the same team (divorce is not an option we will entertain), forging a new path to create a life that is best for our unique family, and keeping an eternal perspective in mind. This life isn't always easy but holy crap its so beyond worth it.
