Pageant Queen/ Actor/ Non-for-profit founder/ Student
Calgary-based Marilou Landry is a 21-year-old student on a mission to bring more authentic
representation to stages around the world. Dealing with a difficult upbringing in her hometown in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Marilou house-hopped between parents and grandparents to navigating Canada’s foster system as a teenager to being forced to move out on her own at just 16. She now studies at the University of Calgary with the hopes of completing a double bachelor in Drama and Psychology to create healing spaces for youth who -like her- have faced adversity which is a mission close to her heart she is already achieving with her not-for-profit Foster Empower supporting youth aging out of the care system. Being in the pageant industry for now 4 years, Marilou is competing for the title of Miss Personality Canada to shed light on the beauty found in disabilities and advocate for youth aging out of the care system with the hopes of beating the odds and proving that no matter what is your past you can achieve your dreams. Whether on stage, at the theatre, or in the community, Marilou is showing the world what resilience, beauty, and advocacy look like in action.
