Dr. Tye Martin is a digital creator, influencer, and disability advocate living with Muscular Dystrophy. He earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of New Mexico in 2019. In 2021, Tye was forced to press a life “reset button” following gallbladder surgery which led to a tracheostomy and 40 days in ICU. His new mission is to be a voice of equality for people in vulnerable communities. To this end, he launched a social media presence on Instagram (@dr.tyedmartin) where he creates and shares content important for disability awareness along with other aspects of his life other than his disability. He currently works with two nonprofits as a board member with Laughing at my Nightmare, Inc. and an ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). He is also the host and producer of a weekly podcast with guests from the disabled community called “The TyePod”.
