Mom

I was born with spondylolisthesis which started being a problem when I was around 7 years old. Over the years had treatment but was then cleared to do various sports. That is when I started competitive cheerleading, which I was cleared for. I was told, by the doctor, to be re-checked if I started having abnormal back pain. I started having leg pain and had brought it up multiple times, with testing being done, between 2007 and 2016. In 2016 I fractured my spine, again. I finally was passed on to a ortho surgeon who had reviewed all my MRIs and tests and said I should have had surgery ages ago due to the amount of times I had been fracturing and then re-fracturing my spine. Had a spinal fusion in 2016 and after developed foot drop, paralysis, and bladder issues. 10 years later I am now a wheel momma to a little girl and work in finance. I spend my spare time trying to advocate for accessibility around my city and more awareness.
